Microgenetic research

In our lab we study how perception unfolds within about a couple of hundreds of milliseconds after a subject is presented with a stimulus.

For studying perceptual microgenesis, we utilize and explore phenomena like visual masking, flash-lag effect, attentional blink, apparent motion, perception of spatially quantized (pixelated) images, etc. We do computer-controlled experiments for this purpose by displaying the stimuli on a computer monitor and recording observers’ responses on-line.
