Annika’s research is focused on EEG-signatures of visual awareness and the effects of pre-stimulus brain state on stimulus awareness (ERP-s, time-frequency analysis, ITC).

She graduated University of Tartu in 1999 with medical doctors degree (no right to practice). Annika had 5 kids in the following 10 years and spent most of her time taking care of them. She gradually became interested in the studies of the human brain and in how the brain creates consciousness and decided to pursue her growing interest in it. In 2009 she started taking courses at the Institute of Psychology, University of Tartu and since autumn 2010 she is working on her current project.
